On 13th October 2012 thirty cyclists left Axminster in Devon and rode 769 miles to the Slow Food Salone del Gusto festival in Turin, Italy, in memory of Philippa Corbin. We rode to raise awareness of depression and raise funds for two charities.

Day 10 – Saint Sorlin Sur Bugey to Chambery (49 Miles)

Specialities: Fondue, Tartiflette, Crepes, Goat’s Cheese, Chartreuse

A big day ahead in a sense (and ascents). We follow The Rhone (on the right) with the inspiring, rugged ridges of the pre Alps shadowing the route on the left… it’s beautiful country.  Leaving the river the route climbs moderately before sweeping down to the town of Novalaise.  A warm up for what is to come next – the longest and steepest of the ENTIRE ride – a long slow climb to 1000m before an equally steep decent into Chambery.
